Please introduce yourself and your book(s)!
I am Ina Disguise, artist and author I write pseudo romantic comedies and short stories. I call them pseudo romantic because quite often nobody gets together and I like to break rules.
What is/are the real-life story(ies) behind your book(s)?
Quite a lot of my stories are embroidered stories from my life.
What inspires/inspired your creativity?
Men.
How do you deal with creative block?
I live my life until I am able to do what I want to do, so I don’t regard them as blocks so much as necessary breaks.
Do you have tips on choosing titles and covers?
Make the title memorable and the cover sufficiently simple to work as a thumbnail, for ebooks in particular.
How do bad reviews and negative feedback affect you and how do you deal with them?
I avoid reading them, but I haven’t really had any that were notable.
How has your creation process improved over time?
I am very relaxed about it now, it used to be a source of terrible shame, particularly as it is very related to my sexuality.
Do you tend towards personal satisfaction or aim to serve your readers? Do you balance the two and how?
I have an aim in mind, and it often does not relate to standard genres or rules – I write things I would like to read, basically.
What role do emotions play in creativity?
Crucial.
Do you have any creativity tricks?
Don’t listen to anybody.
What are your plans for future books?
Magical realism for fun and profit. Non fiction once I have increased my reader base.
