Please introduce yourself and your book(s)!
My name is Kristina Steiner and I am an author of contemporary romance novels. I am from Slovenia, Europe, but I currently live in Bangalore, India.
My first book was published on April 1 and my next one, the sequel, will be released on May 31.
Reading is my favorite past time and writing is my dream job. I love reading and creating stories that entertain and make you forget about the time.
What is/are the story(ies) behind your book(s)?
Equinox and Eclipse, my current books, tell the story of two people who think they have everything figured out. But we all know that as soon as you think that, the universe sweeps in and disturbs your plans. And for the two main characters, love is the thing that pushes them out of their comfort zones.
How do you deal with creative block?
I just write and it doesn’t have to be perfect. I start typing away and produce something because anything is better than nothing.
What are the biggest mistakes you can make in a book?
There are many mistakes you can do. Having plot holes is the obvious one but I think overcomplicating a story is also a big mistake. The story should be intriguing but not so intricate that the reader needs to make notes while reading it to keep up.
What were the best, worst and most surprising things you encountered during the entire process of completing your book(s)?
The best is having someone tell you how much they enjoy your writing. The worst is people thinking that reading and writing romance books is something that one should be embarrassed by and dealing with that. The most surprising thing is how much I’ve started liking the editing process.
Do you have any creativity tricks?
I read books in the genre I write and let those inspire me. And whenever I’m writing I’m always listening to music. Loudly!
What are your plans for future books?
I just started writing my next book that I want to finish by July.
